Welcome to the About.com discussion forum focused on US Politics and Current Events.

This is a "big tent" message board which welcomes a broad range of opinions. Opinions are not homogeneous; for a food analogy, consider this Forum a stew, not a soup. Because there are viewpoints from all sides -- including foreign and domestic -- eventually you will probably disagree strongly with someone's comments. Please don't take differences of opinion personally. Disagreement does not justify lashing out at someone and or engaging in a personal attack.

Remember these two simple rules:
  • Respect copyright.
  • Disagree with opinions, don't attack individuals.
In short, participate with passion ... but without racial slurs, hate speech, obscenities, gossip or other juvenile noise. Repeat offenders will be blocked from participating. Any poster who advocates killing anyone -- government official, public person, private citizen -- will be immediately banned.

Your posts can refer users to relevant sites, but advertisements are prohibited. For more detail, review our Pax Forum.

FAQ

  1. Q. Do I have to register?
    A. Guests may only read posts, not reply. To respond to a posting or initiate a thread, you must first be a memer. Registration is quick, simple, and free. Please join us. Like many political forums and political blogs, we have a waiting period between registration and posting.
  2. Q. Are there any types of posts that are prohibited here?
    A. We will delete any spam or commercial posts. Please do not post to sell something or involve anyone in a money-making proposition. Flames or rude / insensitive remarks will be removed. Users who are disruptive may be gagged at the Guide's discretion.
  3. Q. What do I do if I find a post offensive?
    A. We take the Terms of Service agreement seriously here. If you find a post offensive (hate rhetoric, personal attacks) or see a blatent copyright violation, please click on the "Options" link in the lower left corner of every post. Select "Report Violation." I review all complaints -- if you want a personal response, you must include contact info in the report.
